Throughout life, we often feel beaten by others. Unfortunately, some people deliberately damage us, either mentally or physically. However, the Five of Swords represents this struggle. It embodies the element of air, and swords in tarot connect to our thoughts and thought processes.
Furthermore, I believe this tarot meaning mainly connects to a person who mentally bullies or slanders you. You can find bullies in various places, such as work, school, or even within your family. It’s important to recognize that people who claim to be spiritual can also engage in bullying and slander.
Greed strongly represents itself in this tarot card. As a Minor Arcana, the Five of Swords conveys a very malevolent feeling. Notice how the man holding all five swords wears a vindictive expression. In contrast, the man walking away holds nothing and appears completely drained, both mentally and physically.

Always be on your guard when the Five of Swords comes out in a tarot spread. People get very jealous of other people’s success. And unfortunately, sometimes those that are envious will do anything to bring you down.
Remember to always stand up for yourself against obnoxious bullies. Understandably if you are feeling like everybody is against you, perhaps you’re not in the right place. Always go by your intuition and does not feel right for you then it is not.

Spirituality really means not only finding out who you truly are from your soul’s perspective but also doing the best for everybody else. Sadly, spirituality is full of hypocrites and they can do more damage than they can do good. We will come into this world for our souls, purpose and growth and so being mindful and understanding of others is always a must.
Not everybody is going to get along, however mindfulness I think it’s a way of dealing with it. If somebody’s particularly angry or upset that may have been installed in them at birth. You never truly know how somebody is feeling deep down but at the same time, they don’t need to take it out on others.
At no point should you ever feel ashamed of who you are. Stand your ground against people who will try and undermine you at no point show any fear. This is what I can see in the Five of Swords. Notice also the bird of prey in the picture who seems to be coming in for the kill. People that backstab will do it out of spite, but also they will do it when you’re least expecting it. As a result of being a victim of this, whoever has done it to make sure you never trust him again.

Equally, this card can be turned around the other way. If you are seeking revenge on somebody then the Five of Swords shows it. It’s not for the psychic, psychic medium or tarot card reader to judge you. However, revenge can have its own downfall on the one that is seeking it.
Being a victim of bullies, being lied to or scammed is horrible but there is something called karma. One way or another it will find its way around to who has wronged you.
Think carefully before you act. You may be made to look even worse than who has wronged you if you go for revenge. Without a doubt, if you are the victim of a crime, then you should always report it to the police. Nonetheless, if you are being bullied, then always make sure that you talk about it.
Notice also the sky in this tarot card. It really shows the bad energy that surrounds the situation. Negative energy can’t be seen but it can be felt. In that case, never be too proud or feel defeated if you walk away.

At the end of the day, we learn the hard way in life. It is all part of our spiritual soul’s growth, experience is something that we cannot buy only learn. As harsh as the Five of Swords looks life is generally like that. Life is always up and down and never plain sailing because if it was we would never learn anything.
People who try to bring you down cannot be happy in themselves. Nobody can be if that’s the way they treat or wish harm on others. Remain confident and happy in yourself and you can never be defeated.
What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger and every life lesson that we have toughen up spiritually and emotionally. We rarely make the same mistake twice and unfortunately, we do learn the hard way at times. Take it as a life lesson.
Forgiveness
Can you ever find it in your heart to forgive somebody who has done you wrong? I suppose depending on the circumstances and the severity of what they’ve done. The spirit world is very forgiving. When you pass to the spirit world you have a lot of time to look over what has happened to you and what you’ve done.
Holding onto grudges and hate can eat away at us. I have often found that not thinking about who has done it to you helps. Hate and anger do no good for your soul or your spiritual being. But at the same time, it’s all part of our existence.
Meditation and mindful thinking for yourself is a very good option. Giving yourself the time and the love that you deserve all of which gives you a sense of self-worth and self-purpose. Forgiveness is something that not all of us can do. Finding it within your heart and within your soul may not always be easy Or in some cases, impossible.
Overall never forget who you are. Do you do everything in spite of what people have said and done to you.
