Spirituality what is its true definition?

Spirituality, well where do I begin? What is the true definition? It has taken me a long time to really decipher for myself what spirituality means. Not only to me but to everybody. I personally find it quite a harsh word. I don’t believe that we all need to be spiritual as for me. It is a very personal and private thing.
Unquestionably for me, spirituality is a connection to oneself. It does not require anybody else to force it upon you. If you are going down a spiritual path then you are seeking a much more in-depth understanding of yourself. There is no need to have anybody telling you or having any hierarchy forcing you to believe what they believe in.
Spirituality and religion
I suppose it’s pointing towards the same thing. However, with religion, it tells you what to believe and what to do. Spirituality should solely be a journey of self-discovery and self-belief. For example, in a church, a priest or a vicar preaches the Bible. Not that I believe there’s anything wrong with any of that as you are free to believe and worship whoever or whatever you choose to.
What’s more, I also know a lot of Christian people who hold faith in Christ but choose not to go to church. That being said, I also know other religious people of different faiths who also do not go to a place of worship. They keep it to themselves and perhaps worship when they feel the need to.
With what I believe in and what I do, such as my work as a psychic medium, clairvoyant, and tarot card reader. There is not a lot of place for it in religion. I’ve met a lot of religious people who are open-minded and accept what I do; however, it is not for all of them. Again, you have the choice to believe and do what you want to do with your life. It is not for religion or spirituality to tell you otherwise.

Is spirituality a religion?
This is a very debated question. Is spirituality a religion or not? For me, it is not it is just a way of living your life and above all again finding peace and harmony with yourself.
Spirituality, again to me, is about working out who you truly are as a person. It involves getting very in-depth with your soul and delving into your life purpose. We all come into this life from the spirit world and have our own purpose and lessons to learn in this world.
Many people have had very difficult lives. Growing up in very difficult situations, they turn to spirituality to gain some kind of understanding of why they have suffered. For me, suffering is all part of our soul’s growth. And as hard as it can be to see suffering or experience it, I believe there’s a reason for it.
The main difference between religion and spirituality is that religion tells you what to do and believe and spirituality is a form of enlightenment. Enlightenment is all about finding out your truth and your own beliefs. Enlightenment all began in the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe. Becoming known as the Age Of Enlightenment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Enlightenment
However, certain religions point more towards spirituality for me such as;
– Buddhism

– Taoism

– Jainism

Snobbery in spirituality
There is good and bad in everybody. There is also good and bad in religion, as well as good and bad in spirituality. One thing I find with spiritual people is that they can look down on others. Spiritualism is so diverse, and there are many different opinions about it.
I find that some people take spiritualism too far. Thinking that everything should be in line with how they think. Ego plays a massive role in spiritualism, when in fact as I have always stated there is no right or wrong. You have to make up your own decision on what is right and wrong.
I remember a conversation that I had with a fellow psychic medium. I can’t recall exactly how the conversation started, but I will never forget what they said to me. She mocked me in front of a class of other psychic development students because of the way I work with spirit within my aura. I rock and move around when I work as a medium.
“That’s wrong,” she said to me in a very abrupt manner. I replied, saying that’s the way I’ve been drawn to work, to which she responded, ”You will put clients off of you if you work that way. It’s completely wrong and looks terrible.” I was slightly offended by her rude manner. However, I decided to leave her group and never return.
This is another thing if you feel uncomfortable or offended by anybody in any spiritual group then the best thing to do is move on.

Psychic and Mediumship
Spirituality plays a massive role in psychic Mediumship. In particular, Mediumship as it is the belief in proof of life after death. Spirituality is a lot about life after death and proof of the spirit world.
It’s the belief and concept that the soul continues to live past earthly existence. In other words, when you are declared dead by a doctor your soul continues to survive and you have consciousness.
Science is already starting to prove that there is consciousness beyond matter and that the soul lives on. Over the years, I’ve also had quite a lot of doctors, medical practitioners, and even scientists as clients. I suppose what they have witnessed in their lives and careers must really open their eyes to the possibility of eternal life.
Going back about a year ago, I had a client that I can’t forget because it was an interesting reading. All I kept on seeing around her were dead bodies. As horrible as it sounds, when I told her, she started laughing. While I was reading for her, I could see an operating room, and again, dead bodies were being taken in and out of the fridge.
She smiled at me and said, “Well, I’m a mortician.” Continuing with the reading, I could see things moving around in the room where she worked. Doors were opening and closing, equipment was moving, and so on. She told me that she has all kinds of experiences with the job and that nothing worried her, but she was more interested in whether she was imagining it or not.
The soul
Many belief systems and philosophies believe that the soul is responsible for a person’s thoughts, emotions, and consciousness and that it continues to exist beyond the physical death of the body. People often describe the soul as the essence or core of a person’s being, considering it to be the spiritual or immaterial part of an individual that is eternal and transcends the physical body. The concept of the soul deeply intertwines with ideas about identity, purpose, and the nature of existence.
I like to look at it as the principle of life. We are all individuals and have had many lives before our current ones. Everything has a soul that is living from humans to animals anything that has a consciousness has a soul. Our soul is connected to the spirit world.
The location of the soul within the body is widely debated. My belief and the belief by many is that it is contained throughout the entire body and has no particular place. My other theory is that part of our soul remains attached to the spirit world by an almost umbilical cord connecting us from birth.

Reincarnation of the soul
Reincarnation is a belief or concept that suggests that after death, an individual’s soul is reborn into a new body. This cycle of rebirth continues until the soul reaches a state of spiritual enlightenment or perfection. Various religious and philosophical traditions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and certain New Age belief systems, include the idea of reincarnation. Proponents of reincarnation believe that the process allows the soul to learn and evolve through multiple lifetimes, ultimately leading to spiritual growth and enlightenment.
From a spiritual point of view, it makes more sense to me that we have many lives. This way, we are able to learn and heal from previous ones, as well as help others and learn from them. I take a lot of pride in life in being humble. We are all the same, living a spiritual life, making mistakes, doing good and bad things, but all these are part of our soul journey.
Past life regression is something that a lot of people try to go back and experience the lives that they’ve had before.
Summary
Just be who you are and nobody else. That’s the whole point of spirituality: to be the real and true person you are deep within your soul. There is no need to find yourself a spiritual teacher or to read books about spirituality, as I believe it’s something that requires none of that necessarily.
What could truly be better in life than self-acceptance and having a much deeper understanding of who you truly are as a person? Whether you are an aspiring psychic medium, clairvoyant, reiki healer, shamanic healer, or bus driver, whoever you truly are deep down is far more important.
Blessings to all of you who have taken the time to read my blog. It really means a lot to me.
