Strength, I think it says it for itself really what it means. This is a major arcana and is number eight in the major arcana tarot cards. This card was formally known as fortitude however it changed its name somewhere in time. Tarot card interpretations vary from reader to reader so this blog is my interpretation and experience of using the strength card.

Finding yourself in a very difficult situation strength is what you need to put yourself through. Notice how this card shows, will and determination. I always believe that there is a way through everything that is difficult in life. This also includes willpower and courage to face up to adversity.

Strength on a deep level

Working professionally as a psychic medium and tarot card reader I can honestly say I’ve met some of the most amazing people. It baffles me sometimes just how strong and incredible some people are who have lost loved ones or have been through the most traumatic life experiences I could possibly imagine. Strength is what pulls them through.

Furthermore, with this card, I can see a very spiritual grounding effect. Notice how the Lady in this deck is all dressed in red connecting to the root chakra. She has a sword on the ground but does not use it or even hold it, next to her is her faithful companion. I have often wondered if this is actually a spiritual power animal or if it’s the real thing a boar. In many other tarot decks, including the Rider Waite tarot deck she is taming a lion. She is not scared to show her strength in any given situation and neither should you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strength_(tarot_card)

Strength in our daily lives

Everybody suffers in life from one thing to another. Certainly, in your early years from a baby onwards, you can experience trauma. Many children go through bullying and abuse and even to adulthood. The strength card in the tarot deck shows you and proves to you that you can fight back.

Many of us don’t realise just how strong we actually are. However, when faced with difficult situations it really brings out the person we are deep down. Never underestimate yourself or anybody else for that matter and prove how much strength you have deep within your soul.

I had a client once and the first card that was pulled out of her with strength. Amongst the other tarot cards, I could see that she was having a very difficult time with her relationship. Above all what she needed to do was to end it however she did not feel strong enough.

After everything I told her throughout the Reading and the Reading had finished a few days later she got back to me. “ I took your advice and I absolutely loved what you told me. I had to end it as I was getting nowhere with him.” I was so glad that she took my advice as it showed just how much she had to live for without him in her life.

Finding our inner strength

Where is our inner strength? Each and every one of us has got inner strength. I often think as well that those people who believe that they have none have more than those who believe that they do.

Things are sent to try us in life certainly for our soul’s growth. Being resilient also and being able to say no to people who take advantage of you. If you do not stand up for yourself and show your strength, people will walk all over you.
