The worst thing to happen to a psychic medium
One of the worst things that can happen to a psychic medium is what is known as reader’s block. What it is is when the psychic or medium finds it very difficult to connect with the client. If what the medium or psychic is saying to the client does not make any sense to them. Or when the psychic or medium particularly a medium cannot feel any energy from the spirit world.
Every single psychic or medium will have experienced this at some point in their career. It’s something that happens to all of us. There may be several reasons why this happens such as.
– Tiredness
– Feeling unwell
– Feeling stressed
– Depressed
– Unable to hear the client properly
– Overworked or taking on too much
There may be several other reasons. Maybe the client is not ready to know the outcome of a situation or the time is not right for their loved one in the spirit world to come through. All of this being said it is just one thing that every psychic medium, tarot card reader, crystal ball reader and so on needs to accept.
Readers block for a psychic medium
Mediumship is without doubt the most complex and most mentally demanding job in spiritualism. It requires 100% dedication to the spirit world and the medium needs full concentration. Also, it takes a lot longer to master mediumship and go on to become a professional.
Spirit needs to lower their frequency and the medium needs to heighten theirs to connect with one another. Allowing the two to meet together coining the term mediumship or just medium. At times the connection can be difficult again for several different reasons. As mentioned above. Readers block seems to happen more often in mediumship compared to psychic readings such as tarot for example.
Working in the mind constantly is exhausting. Mediumship is all done within the mind and if you are working as the psychic medium and you are not feeling up to it your mediumship will be affected.
Readers block in psychic readings
There are many different types of psychic readings, such as.

– Scrying
– Angel card readings
– Crystal ball readings
– Numerology
– Astrology
– Colour readings
– Oracle card readings
– Aura readings
The list goes on. All of these are very different types of readings however, they all require energy. Furthermore just like giving a mediumship reading you need to be in the right frame of mind. The psychic will need to rely a lot on their spirit guides for the reading to go well.
Again, as I’ve mentioned above such as tiredness and being overworked, they can cause readers block. If you are not feeling a connection with a client then the reading will not work properly. I think sometimes certain psychics cannot connect with certain clients. It’s nothing personal. I think that people are very different and also may not be able to understand the client’s needs at that time.
What to do as a client receiving the reading
If you are having a reading and you feel that it is not resonating with you? Then you must straightaway tell the psychic medium that you would like to end the Reading. It happens to all readers time after time when they cannot connect. Also, if the reading is getting too personal or upsetting you then the same thing you must ask to end the Reading. All readings must be finished on a positive vibe as that is what life is all about.
Unfortunately, there are some psychics and mediums out there that do more damage than good. Digging up very sensitive topics with no empathy whatsoever towards their client. As a psychic medium, I cannot tell you what to do. I can only give you advice and help you. This is what all other psychic mediums must aspire to do.
However, always be prepared to hear things that you do not necessarily want to hear. You cannot be guaranteed that the Reading will go the way that you want it to go. Such as being told you will have the relationships or careers that you want. Life is like an obstacle course and we need to face the bad and the good.
What to do if you are the reader and you cannot connect
Just like the client as the reader you have just as much right to end the Reading if you are not connecting. As difficult as it may be sometimes you have to just accept that you cannot connect.
In my experience, I’ve had to do it a number of times. It is disappointing and it can also be confidence-shattering from time to time however it’s just something that we have to accept. As the saying goes, it comes with the territory. Many psychics and mediums lose a lot of confidence over these Readings. But again it happens to even well-established and famous psychics and mediums.
It’s not always your fault and sometimes the client is not ready to receive either proof of survival from the spirit world or guidance itself. If someone has recently passed over then it’s unlikely they will come through straight away. Spirit needs time to come to terms with their passing back to the spirit world. Also if a relationship for example has just ended then straight after it might not be the right time for a psychic reading.
Modesty as a psychic medium
“You are only as good as the last Reading you gave”. I love this saying and I’ve heard it many times. I am not sure who first quoted this saying however I use a lot. There is no guarantee and there is absolutely no way of knowing how the Reading is going to go. Keeping a modest and down-to-earth levelheaded mind is vital in this work. There is no room for ego or arrogance.
Importantly you are working with somebody’s life. Psychic and Mediumship Readings have a huge impact on people. If you insult or leave somebody in a bad way after reading it can do them damage. Life is full of challenging times, but there is always a way out of them. Furthermore, that is why I do the work that I do to help people. Empathy and understanding of others is what I stand for.

Demonstrating as a psychic medium on platform
Platform Mediumship takes a lot of experience and nerve to stand up in front of people. Demonstrating in front of a live ordinance in person or online can be nerve-racking. Again readers block can happen however you can always work through it if you’re not connecting with a particular person or spirit then another one will come through.
It took me a long time to gain the confidence to perform publicly. During my time of demonstrating on most occasions, I have experienced readers block at some stage. Either when I am drawn to a particular person or don’t quite get the description of the spirit communicating quite right.
Over the years I have been to other psychic medium’s demonstrations. Some even very well-known and famous mediums to see them demonstrating their mediumship. There were times during the demonstration that they were struggling with certain links and people in the audience. Unquestionably this happens no matter how long you have been doing it or how well-known you are. What’s more, is that the demonstrations all went very well.
Evidential mediumship
Mediumship is all about evidence. All the vital details and personal things that associate with the spirit that is communicating with the medium. Names, birthdays, personal traits and anything that really stands out between the spirit and the loved ones. Evidential mediumship is what it is known as.
Notably with Mediumship, it can take a while for the spirit world to connect properly through the medium. Particularly if the spirit has passed over recently. As a result, to start with the readings can be quite vague and not very accurate. Then the spirit can start to trust and grow more with the psychic medium.
For myself, if this happens to me, I say to the client let me start again. Above all, I want to give the best reading possible. I will then ask my guides to cleanse me down and then I retune myself to connecting with the spirit world. Usually, this works and I can bring in the spirit world much more clearly.
Confidence issues
The one thing that it can do is shatter the confidence of aspiring mediums and even professional psychic medium’s. I’ve seen it happen so many times even to me I’ve had my confidence knocked however you need to keep on going.
In any job, it does not matter what you do you have good and bad days. Please, if you are an aspiring medium, do not let it affect you. The spirit world will still want to work with you. It really is nothing personal. It’s just something that happens with this line of work.
The one thing that you can’t do is sit down with spirit after and ask questions. However, all you can do is learn from the situation. Sometimes the lessons that you’ve learnt from mistakes or from Readings that have not worked can help you in the future.
