Physical Mediumship, what it is and everything that you need to know?

Mediumship falls into two categories: mental Mediumship and physical Mediumship. In this blog, we will explore physical Mediumship and everything it encompasses.
What is the definition of physical Mediumship?
Physical Mediumship is very different from its counterpart mental Mediumship. What’s more, is that physical Mediumship involves the spirit world working in a very different way.
Moreover, physical Mediumship allows the spirit world to manipulate the medium. One example is trance Mediumship, where the spirit world uses the medium to convey messages through the medium’s voice box. The medium also adopts the mannerisms of the communicating spirit.
This particular type of Mediumship takes much longer to develop than mental Mediumship. It requires significantly more energy and a greater level of trust in the spirit world. Nonetheless, practitioners have practiced this oldest type of Mediumship for centuries.
Overall, the main difference between the two types of Mediumship is that mental Mediumship links through all the chakras of the mental medium. During this process, the spirit world communicates through thought and feeling by placing images and sensations into the medium’s mind.
On the other hand, physical Mediumship is a much broader spectrum involving many different phenomena.

What kind of phenomena does physical Mediumship include?
Other than trance Mediumship, physical Mediumship involves phenomena such as;
- Table tipping: This involves the spirit world manipulating a table by pushing it backward and forward using spiritual energy and the energy of the participants.
- Ouija boards: This again involves the spirit world being able to manipulate a planchette or glass. This done by pushing it in the direction of the numbers and letters written on the Ouija board or table.
- Séance trumpet: A trumpet that is used to emit spirit voices by levitating into the air and floating around during a séance.
- Orbs: Spiritual orbs can be seen with the naked eye. They are debated as to what they are. Yet I believe they are the actual spirit connection closer to the physical world as they no longer have a physical form. https:/all-about-orbs-all-you-need-to-know/
- Materialisation: This is quite rare however it is when the spirit world is able to reveal itself in a physical form. In other words, showing themselves for who they were before they passed to the spirit world.
- Levitation: The ability to lift off of the ground or a table being either a person or a physical object.
- Ectoplasm: This is a mysterious often white-coloured substance that a physical medium can produce. Usually through their mouth and nose during a séance. Ectoplasm can take on the image of people’s faces who are in the spirit world.
- Automatic writing: Allowing the spirit world to manipulate your hand and arm to convey messages via writing.
- Voices: Hearing your name being called for example. Also, any kind of sound from the spirit world. Including speaking, breathing, whistling et cetera.
There are many other examples of physical Mediumship. These are just a few.

How safe is physical Mediumship?
Similar to mental mediumship, you should always ask your spirit guides for protection. Especially when you use tools like Ouija boards and table tipping. Overall, I believe that physical mediumship requires much more trust, as the spirit world comes much closer to your aura and personal space. https:/the-importance-of-boundaries-as-a-psychic-medium/
Undoubtedly, some spirits aren’t particularly nice. However, if you work professionally with protection and respect for the spirit world, you are unlikely to be affected by them.
Learning how to work with the spirit world takes time, whether you pursue physical or mental mediumship. As I have mentioned, you need much longer to perfect physical mediumship than mental mediumship.
On the whole, you only find physical mediumship unsafe if you don’t know what you are doing. Other than that, it remains perfectly safe and can offer a fascinating experience.
Does trance Mediumship cause health problems?
You should note that mediumship, particularly trance mediumship, carries health risks. This varies from medium to medium, but I have known physical mediums who have suffered from heart problems and water retention.
At the end of the day, you must consider that the spirit world manipulates your body. In particular if you work as a trance medium. I personally know a trance medium who developed heart problems. All due to working closely with the spirit world.
Sometimes, people don’t experience any health issues while working as trance mediums. However, they should always take note of this possibility.

Is mental Mediumship taking over?
Over the years, people have seen a decline in physical mediumship. I do not know the reasons for this. But it has not remained as popular as it once was. During the Second World War, a very famous physical medium named Helen Duncan faced arrest for witchcraft because of her abilities.
Ever since that time, people have found mental mediumship much more popular. I think this popularity may stem from its less frightening nature for those who are not used to it. During a mental mediumship reading, spirits rarely manifest themselves as they do in a physical mediumship reading.
I notice that physical mediumship takes much longer to learn and master. In contrast, mental mediumship doesn’t require as much time and isn’t as intense as physical mediumship.
I believe that mental mediumship feels much more personal. As a professional mental medium, I find that it establishes a closer connection to the spirit world. Still, this is just my personal opinion.
